Apple iTunes and the Customer Choice revolution

Categories:    -Art-   -Companies and deals-   -Interesting sites-   -Technology-   -Web 2.0-   -Web marketing-

Apple's itunes service gives users the ability to download the songs they like for 99 cents. Chances are that you already know it, since it's the largest music shop in the world. It is so large that the 1 billionth song was downloaded recently.  The amazing thing is the growth factor. Half of the 1B songs were downloaded in the last 6 months. This means that every day almost 3 million songs are being downloaded.   It is safe to say that the music industry have passed a revolution. The sales of iTunes show that media has become ubiquitous and that users do not need to see a plastic box and a nice leaflet to enjoy music.

Number of blogs estimated at 200 million

Categories:    -Companies and deals-   -Interesting sites-   -Technology-   -Open Source-   -Web 2.0-   -Web marketing-

Blog Herald estimates the number of existing blogs at 200 Million.Think of it this way- approximately every 5th of the estimated 1,018,057,389 web users (according to Internet world stats) has a blog. In other words, there are m-a-n-y bloggers out there with readership of 1. In case they read their own blog. What the overwhelming number really means is that the public has taken publishing into their own hands. Competition over readers is fierce and the best will win. Another implication is that individual blogs are getting harder to find in the sea of blogs. So more and more bloggers should consider writing for open blogs like linkadelic magazine. This cannot be bad for the readers and web users.
