The new St-Louis Blues owner Dave Checketts has guaranteed the team will win its home opener October 12 against the Boston Bruins. Checketts has even gone as far as expressing optimism that the Blues can get back to the playoffs as early as next season. Here's a little reminder; the Blues finished last season with the worst record in the NHL...But during the offseason, the Blues made some changes to their lineup. First of all, they called back Doug Weight from the Stanley Cup champs Hurricanes, who left St-Louis just before the playoffs.Then they added some scoring touch with czech forward Martin Rucinsky from New York.
