You seem in denial

You have your head buried in the sand if you don't. It has been proven that we influence our environment. You ever stood next to a car exhaust with it's engine running? You ever notice how noxious and bad it smells? Well guess what... that goes into the air - I'm not kidding - into the air!! This particulate matter is sizeable enough to reflect inbound light (global dimming) and also outbound light and heat (global warming). Now multiply that by a few billion and growing - remembering that some vehicles burn fuel quicker.

This is only one facet of the problem of our dependence on fossil fuels. Power stations burn immense amounts of fuel so you can have all the conviniences you wish for. Now that China and India (two of the most populous countries on the planet) are just entering their industrial peak we can expect to see a sharp increase in the energy requirements for those countries. Can the Earth's atmosphere withstand this stress? In my opinion, no.

I work as an environmental scientist and I can say our future is bleak if we keep burning fossil fuels. Some colleagues say we have a time window in which to fix the problem although judging from what I've seen I think we have already passed it. We have been warned over and over yet people with a fixation on themselves seem to miss the point time and again. We need to change, yesterday.

You can argue that "there is no evidence" or "it's the natural carbon/water cycle" or "the environment controls temperature fluctuations" but at the end of the day, wouldn't it be logical to err on the side of caution, rather than not?
